Anurag's next Bombay Velvet with girlfriend Kalki
The director wrote on his blog that while he is working on Bombay Velvet it will be ages till the final draft comes around. He still has a lot of work to go on the script rumoured to be starring Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh and John Abraham and produced by Danny Boyle.
For now he’s focussed his attention on his next thriller, That Girl in Yellow Boots for which he completes shooting in two weeks. The screenplay penned by girlfriend Kalki also stars her Naseeruddin Shah and several other theatre actors.
‘Yes that’s the title of the movie i am making now. Forget media speculations about ‘Happy Ending” and “Bombay Velvet”. BV ’s script is not yet locked, its far from complete and who knows how many drafts to go.’ The director wrote putting rest to all rumours on his PFC blog. ‘I announced i want to start shooting in 20 days. Kshipra, Neel , my a.d’s freaked out. They yelled, screamed at me, tried to make me see sense, i didn’t see it. I just knew i had to do it now or i would get into a rut of big time.’ He added about his urgency to start shoot asap.
Anurag has gathered financers and actors in a short span of time for his small-budget film and even spoke of girlfriend Kalki’s playwriting skills, ‘I narrated an idea to Kalki, whose playwriting skills were fantastic enough to win her and her co-writer an award. I personally had read a lot more of what she wrote, so i narrated an idea to her, asked her to write. She wrote random scenes, i kept pushing her , she kept writing.’ He wrote. Anurag who’s completes shoot in a couple of days encouraged directors by saying, ‘. Go out and experiment, don’t wait for things to fall in place and beg borrow and steal if you may, and no one in the world can stop you.’
