liplock and never-before-seen intimate scenes in Kurban
Kurbaan isn’t Saif and Kareena’s first film together as they have acted in LOC Kargil, Tashan and Omkara before but they weren’t a couple at the time. Kurbaan is the first film they shot for after they got involved romantically. Saif says that there is much more to the film than the intimate scenes which are an integral part of the narration. ‘They are bold, realistic and honest just as the action is raw, edgy and bloody. The songs are genuinely Sufi and the story is shocking and brutal.’
Saif is conscious that the couple may be accused of sensationalizing their romance and since enough has been written about their holidays and rock-solid romance, people may not be excited by their on-screen chemistry. ‘In Kurbaan, Kareena and I are doing what we are best at. This (acting) is what we do to earn a living,’ Saif said.
Kareena has shown off her bare back in the posters and locked lips with Saif in the film. She says, ‘Karan and Rensil D’silva are like family and I trusted them implicitly. The scenes have been tastefully shot and it helped that Saif was my co-star otherwise I wouldn’t have been this comfortable. The poster represents emotional violence and passion. My sister and mother are very excited about seeing the film and after Jab We Met and Omkara, Kurbaan is my personal favourite film.’
