Nana Patekar is launching his son, Malhar as an actor, with his second directorial venture which will be based on autism. Prahaar (1991) was Nana’s directorial debut.

Prakash Jha will be producing the film, despite claims that he had broken off all ties with Nana. The presenter of the film will be Reliance Big Pictures. The film will be a story about a father and his autistic so and stars Nana, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Atul Kulkarni. The female lead of the film is yet to be chosen.

Prakash Jha confirmed that he will be producing the film but Reliance Big Pictures has rubbished the rumours about them presenting it, claiming it is all speculation.

KJo was busy promoting the film and didn’t realize he had lost his wallet until he wanted to use his credit card.

A source tells us, ‘KJo didn’t get a chance to shop in London this time as he was there only for a couple of days which were spent interacting with the press for Kurbaan. He went out for lunch with Saif and Kareena which is probably when he realized that his wallet was missing.’

‘Usually when Karan is in London he makes it a point to indulge in retail therapy and visit his favourite restaurants. He prefers carrying cards to money as it is more convenient. When he lost his wallet, he called up his friends and borrowed some money from them. Also, this is not the first time that he has lost his wallet so he didn’t feel lost or helpless. He immediately called up the credit card companies to cancel his cards. Even the credit card companies are used to him losing his cards and then calling them to cancel them,’ adds our source.

Karan is currently in Mumbai and is busy at the editing studio with My Name is Khan. He will be in New York next week for the promotion of Kurbaan which releases on November 20.

When contacted, Karan said, ‘I don’t want to talk about such silly things as they hardly matter.’

Abhishek Bachchan walked in with Amar Singh instead of his Paa or his wife at Ajay Devgan’s first-ever bash for his friends in the industry on Thursday evening.

Bashful and cynical about glam-gatherings Ajay Devgan has always shunned attending parties and has never before thrown one.

But the new power-packed Devgan newly energized by the success of All The Best has resolved to let the world know he’s ready to conquer showbiz.

Devgan’s buddies Sanjay Dutt and Maanyata were the first to arrive and also among the first to leave since Sanjay had an early-morning flight to catch to South Africa.

And then there was Fardeen and his wife Natasha.

After his successful back surgery in New York Fardeen Khan was back in Mumbai for his first public appearance to celebrate his first successful film in ages at Ajay Devgan’s first-ever party for his colleagues held at the Sahara Star hotel on Thursday night, a day after Devgan wrapped up Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti in Bhopal.

All the arrangements were taken care of by Ajay Devgan and his wife Kajol who were very prominently a part of the celebrations. The party on till late. John Abraham and Bipasha showed up much later.

But as one of the guests later said, “This party was a show of strength for Ajay Devgan. For too long he has smirked and silently watched the Khans rule as the glamourous elements in Bollywood.

With wife Kajol at his side Ajay wants to build Brand Devgan in a par with Saif-Kareena and Abhishek-Aishwarya. The party on Thursday night was the first step in that direction.”

Deols of Bollywood are synonymous to action, just as Kapoors are synonymous to romance. But one Deol boy took the high road. He did the unexpected and did every kind of role but action oriented, that boy was Abhay Deol.

The unconventional hero of Bollywood, now has his own production company called, ‘Forbidden Films’ that is expected to make films that are not typical to Bollywood. Their first venture is the film titled Basra, which is going to see Abhay as the action hero. So, the Deol boy is going to carry on the family tradition by bashing people up on screen.

One wonders if it is a well thought out strategy as this is his first film as a producer. Abhay states that action, comedy and romance are safe genres and when one becomes a producer, he needs to be cautious and read the market.

But this does not mean that he is following Dharmendra or brother Sunny’s footsteps, he clarifies that if others think that he is fit to do only certain kind of movies, he will make movies in which he gets to be different.

Controversies follow where ever Rakhi Sawant goes. This time in Pati Patni Aur Woh the increasing proximity between Rakhi and his var Elesh is annoying the parents of the kids.

“Rakhi and Elesh are getting too touchy in the show which has just not gone down well with the parents and thus they have asked the couple to behave in a proper manner atleast in front of the kids, ” chirps the source.

There had been lots of ups and downs between Rakhi and Elesh during the show. “Rakhi has misunderstood Elesh many times but the viewers have also seen their love blooming in the show.

This time the love birds forgot that they are on national television and a small kid is in their house. They were getting too cosy with each other and that too in front of their on screen son, ” adds the little birdie.

Akshay Kumar injured himself while shooting for Sajid Khan’s Housefull in Madh Island. The actor, who is known to have done even more daring stunts and yet not get hurt, wasn’t as lucky this time.

The scene required him to jump into the deep end of a swimming pool. His timing, unfortunately, messed up and water entered his ears. He came out of the pool immediately but the water had already reached his ear drums.

The injury didn’t bother him at first but he complained of ear ache at 4 am. Akshay was then taken to a hospital immediately and a specialist checked him. He was advised rest for a day at either the hospital or at home and Akshay chose to stay at home.

A chopper has been hired to take him to the sets of his film Khatta Meetha at Baramati as he wasn’t feeling to well. Sajid Khan confirmed the news but stated that there was nothing to worry about now.

He tells, “When you get into seven-feet-deep water, you have to close your nose and go into the water. Akshay dove in too quickly without doing so, and the water rushed into his eardrums and the pressure affected his right eardrum.

He’s a thorough professional! I have seen him in extreme pain or shivering from fever but he doesn’t utter a word but continues shooting. In Italy, while shooting for Housefull, we had to shoot in a hotel on the edge of a cliff, which had eight floors.

While foreign stuntsmen would think twice and use cables and other things to move from the balcony of one floor we would see a cool-as-a-cucumber Akshay jumping with only cables to different balconies. I have never seen any actor perform as scary stunts as him. I used to get scared but now I have stopped. He knows what he’s doing and enjoys performing high-voltage stunts.”

The Subhash Ghai discovery Anurag Sinha who made his debut in Ghai’s Black & White is all set to tie the knot with his long-standing girlfriend Mitakashra Kumar, a writer and a budding filmmaker from Delhi.

The two have been seeing each other for 5 years.

Says the shy young actor, ”We thought it was about time we made it official. Our parents were getting somewhat anxious. We thought we could make a nice team and probably work together.”

Mitakshara is writing a script which she hopes to direct with Anurag in the lead. ”Neither of us in a hurry to become successful overnight. We’ve time on our side. And we don’t wish to do the work we don’t want to.”

Anurag has signed only one film, Owais Husain’s untitled venture, after his debut in Black & White. The film is to be completed soon.

The wedding will take place on November 19 at Gurgaon in Delhi followed by reception in Anurag’s home town Patna on November 23.

”At the moment I’m fitting into Sherwanis trying to overcome my shyness about the wedding,” says Anurag.
